Hair Tips
- Oily or greasy hair does not work well with hairspray nor does it create good volume or curls for your style.
- Hairstyles are divided into front and back. If you see something you like, do not disregard it because you do not like part of the hairstyle. Let your hairstylist know which part you like of each hairstyles. Different parts of different hairstyles can be combined for a unique look of your own.
- Hair can be manipulated to look thicker and longer. Hair extensions could be useful, but not always necessary. Only real human hair can be use because synthetic hair does not having styling abilities.
- If you want to add fullness to your hairstyle and you feel like your hair is too thin to provide that fullness, flowers are a perfect solution to fill in the gaps.
Makeup Tips
- Everyone’s interpretation of “natural”, “smoky eyes”, “heavy”, or “light” makeup is different. Bring photos to show the stylist what your perception of each style looks like.
- Lipstick is the first to come off. If you don’t have your own, the stylist can leave a touch up kit for you.
- Makeup should be a little more extreme (line your eyes more, stronger blush) than usual for the wedding pictures to come out better. Otherwise, you might look washed out.
- Adding eyelashes is a subtle way to enhance your eyes. If you normally don't wear false eyelashes, but you want that shot of glam for your wedding day, then be aware that they may take some getting used to after the trial. You may think they are big, but they translate a lot smaller in your photos and really help bring out your eyes.
- Airbrush makeup (silicone base) will last all day and looks flawless. In order for airbrushing to work well, your skin should be very well moisturized & hydrated. A lot of brides tend to dry out their skin in an attempt to clear up any blemishes, but this keeps the foundation from going on smoothly and leaves you with a rough, cakey texture. Start a moisturizing regime well before your wedding day that includes a good moisturizer and be sure to drink lots of water as well. The 8 glasses a day guideline is not only healthy, but it's a miracle worker for your complexion.
- Waxed/thread your eyebrows two days prior to your wedding day to allow any redness or swelling to disappear.
- Keep from looking bloated or puffy by staying away from high fat and salty foods at least two weeks before your wedding day.
